Brief History of Swarovski Crystal

It was founded by Daniel Swarovski who, in 1892, invented a machine that could cut crystal. The company is still run by fourth and fifth-generation descendants of the founder. She set about turning it into the fashion icon it is today. Its crystal jewelry stones are now used in haute couture, jewelry, lighting, interior design, cosmetic products and crystal chandeliers are undergoing a renaissance. As well as making branded luxury items, the company also manufactures precision optical instruments, grinding tools and other industrial goods. The Swarovski Crystal Company was founded in 1895 by Daniel Swarovski of Georgenthal, Bohemia, who invented and patented a crystal-cutting machine. Here is the history of that company.

Daniel Swarovski opened his company when he moved from Bohemia and settled in Wattens, Tyrol. The company began making crystals for formal evening wear. The Early Twentieth Century Swarovski started a hydro-electric plant in 1907. A year later, his three sons, Friedrich, Wilhelm and Alfred, joined the company and began experimenting with making and cutting crystals.

In 1913, the company achieved the perfect crystal--one without flaws. They sold these to the fashion industry.
Despite the fall of the Astro-Hungarian Empire during World War I, the Swarovski company managed to stay in business. Swarovski introduced grinding wheels in 1919.

Crystals sewn onto fabric ribbon, called trimmings, were developed during this time. The company also expanded its reach into non-fashion related areas like telescopes and binoculars. Daniel Swarovski died in 1936.

The Swarovski Company is managed by Daniel's descendants. Today, the company is known for its crystals as well as for its jewelry and collectible figurines.

How to Care for Swarovski Crystal Jewelry

Do you know how to care for your Swarovski Crystal Jewelry, and here I search on ehow and find the ways,. I hope these can do you a favor. Have a nice day.

Celebrity designers frequently use Swarovski crystals in their clothing designs. The company also sells jewelry, such as earrings and bracelets, as well as decorative home items, such as candle holders and holiday crystal tree ornaments. Swarovski crystals are delicate and need to be handled with care to ensure that they remain in good condition for years. Swarovski offers a special cleaning kit that comes with a soft brush, polishing cloth and white gloves to avoid putting fingerprints on your crystals.

Store your jewelry with its original package. Swarovski crystals come with special soft packing, and if you are going to store your jewelry or ornaments, it is best to put them back into the original packaging to keep the crystals from getting scratched. If you do not have the original packaging, a velvet-like soft pouch will be fine.
Remove Swarovski crystal jewelry before taking care of daily needs. If you are wearing a crystal ring, always remove it before washing your hands. When you're getting ready for bed or getting ready for work in the morning, take off all your jewelry before you begin daily rituals, such as washing your face, putting on lotion and applying hairspray. The chemicals in the soaps and other products will wear away at the metallic coating on the Swarovski crystal over time, causing it to lose its sparkle.

Polish crystals frequently. Using a soft, lint-free cloth, polish your Swarovski crystals frequently so that they maintain their sparkle and dazzling brilliance. For crystal decorative items, dab small amounts of lukewarm water on as you polish to help remove fingerprints.

Avoid knocking your Swarovski crystals against other objects. Be gentle when you are wearing or holding them. If you bang them into another hard object, you risk scratching the crystals or even chipping them. If you have a phone case that has been covered in Swarovski crystals, be careful not to drop your phone on the floor and risk crystals falling off of the phone.

Swarovski Moon & Flower Pendant

The Swarovski Pendant is one of my favorites, which can show girls purple dream of love, I think. The circle design is so speical that looks like the moons light lights on the crystals, which make the crystals more shining.

Instructions for a Beaded Swarovski Crystal Heart Necklace

Swarovski Crystal

Choose your bead colors and lay your design out on a clean work surface. You can work from a pattern in a book or create a design on your own.

Measure out a length of beading cable and cut with small wire cutters or regular scissors. You can eyeball this measurement, but cut the length about 2 inches longer than you think you'll need. This extra length allows for attaching the clasp.

Tape one end of the cable. The tape keeps the beads from sliding off the end. Leave about an inch of cable on the taped end so that you'll have enough room to add the clasp.

String your beads, working from the design you laid out.

Place a crimp tube and a cable guard at the end of your design. Add either a spring ring clap or a lobster clasp and slide it over the cable guard.

Loop the end of the cable back into the crimp tube and through the last bead in your design. This creates the end loop with the clasp on the end. Crimp the tube shut with needle-nose or chain nose pliers.

Remove the tape from the other end and add a crimp tube and cable guard to that end of the beading cable. Add the clasp ring that came with your clasp then repeat the cable loop and crimp as you did on the other end.

Trim the cable on both sides so that the ends are hidden under the last beads. Your crystal heart necklace or bracelet is ready to be worn.

Swarovski crystal hearts can be purchased in several colors and can be strung on beading wire to create necklaces or bracelets. You can purchase Swarovski crystal heart beads online or at craft stores. To create your beaded heart necklace, decide on the size and number of crystal hearts you want to use, and choose complementary round crystals or seed beads to fill out your design.

How Is Swarovski Crystal Made

Swarovski crystals do not occur naturally. They are manmade and consist of 32 percent lead, which is a requirement when making the crystals. The use of lead allows for a material that can withstand cutting and engraving. Daniel Swarovski invented the formula for the crystals in the 1890s.

The making of Swarovski Crystals begins with a secret family formula that has been used for over one hundred years. This formula originated from the Swarovski family and generates the foundation for the finest quality of full lead crystals, making them known as the diamond of the crystal market. Swarovski Crystals was founded in 1895 by Daniel Swarovski.

This member of the Swarovski family was fascinated with glass cutting at an early age and spent nine years developing a machine that would cut crystals with extreme precision; a vast improvement over traditional hand cutting. Although the basics of making Swarovski Crystals are known, the complete process will continue to remain a family secret to deter replication by other crystal competitors.

Daniel Swarovski patented a machine that mass-produced mechanically cut and polished crystals. Originally the crystals were composed of silica, an alkali, and lime. Lead was then added, thus creating a better quality crystal.

The crystals must be made of 32 percent lead in order to maximize refraction. Chemical coatings are used to create the many different colors of the crystals. Clear crystals are more difficult to produce since they must be without impurities.

May those do you a favor of knowing more about Swarovski Crystal Jewelry and have a good day.
